As for Proseminar, I can't remember having seen this even once during my time at uni and I didn't know this was used in English (which is why, apologies to Kartik, I deleted my agree, as I initially thought this was a DE-DE question).
Still not sure how many people will understand what's meant here, but I did find a few UK references:

Neither seems to match the explanations in DE.
