This is taken from a medical report about a patient with a pacemaker. In this sentence, I'm not sure how the indwelling catheter relates to the peripheral venous catheter.

Discussion

Pamela Downes-Grainger (asker) Dec 14, 2020:
That is the full sentence which forms part of a list of examinations of various organs.
Erzsébet Czopyk Dec 14, 2020:
is that the full sentence? Could you please be so kind to provide some more context?
Erzsébet Czopyk Dec 14, 2020:
is that the same medical report? "This is taken from a medical report about a patient with a pacemaker. It forms part of the results of an abdominal ultrasound examination."

Prostatovesikulektomie

Can PKV mean "Prostatovesikulektomie" instead of "peripherer Venenkatheter" in this case?
This should be clear if you translate the total medical report.
Example sentence:

Die radikale Prostatovesikulektomie bezeichnet einen operativen Eingriff der bei Patienten mit lokal begrenztem Prostatakrebs durchgeführt wird.

Note from asker:
There is no mention of such a procedure anywhere in the medical report, although this would make more sense.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Erzsébet Czopyk : IMHO, not in this sentence

disagree Tanja Boyandin (X) : I think it stands for peripherer Venenkatheter and DK is a Dauerkatheter
