Poor art/Anti-form
Poor art (painting), is a collage with shelves of prickly pear technique. It has originated in Calabria (Montaure, CZ) Italy.
While, the origin of decoration form for furnitures, also called "poor art" trace back us, often to Venice of the 1700's.
For further details take a look on the web page I cited.
