Italian term
10 x 5 giorni/settimana
Italian to English
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
Da una lettera che parla delle condizioni contrattuali di un lavoratore italiano all'estero:
"Turno 90/21, orario: 10 x 5 giorni/settimana, assegnazione in Resident Status Single"
I just don't understand it.

10 x 5 days/week
10 hours for five days a week, probably Mon-Fri, 50 hours a week.

a 5x10 week OR 5-10 week
Five days @ 10 hrs each. Quite common. It gives you a longer weekend. Know someone who did it for a while and said it was great.

: Your explanation is fine, but your answer doesn't make sense without it.

It depends if the translation is for the US market (where a 5-10 week needs no explanation) or another market not familiar with it and that would require the explanation of 5 days for 10 hours each.

: Just out of interest, why would working 10 hours a day for 5 days a week give you a longer weekend?

You are absolutely right and I am braindead. A light kept blinking at the back of my mind and I paid no attention to it. Customarily is it 4x10 thus giving you a free Friday. The cold weather must have frozen my braincells.
