Russian term

считает между своими великими людьми

Taking into consideration my peers\' comments, I\'d have liked to suggest \"considers one of its greatest men a man who...\". However, he word \"man\" would be seriously overused.
If you can think of a word for \"великие люди\" that is better than \"leaders\", please use it.

No, you are right, it's not. "Great men" sounds sexist, and "great persons" sounds weak (to me). The context suggests the meaning "деятели", which I translated as "leaders"
neutral Maria Chmelarova : The indicated text has "velikie l'yudi-great men and not samie velikie l'youdi as you translated as " greatest leaders '.

yes, you are correct. I took the liberty to change the words to preserve the meaning.

Or
America takes into consideration ( account ) one man, among her great men, who did not liberated her from...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Mikhail Kropotov : "to take into consideration" means "рассмотреть как вариант" or "иметь в виду". absolutely incorrect. also, "did not liberate" with no "d". your usage of "her" is questionable as well.
