I think your guess is right and I therefore think it might be sranantangu (I am not sure if that is spelled correctly) a language spoken in Surinam, a small country in South America between the Guayanas. It is sort of a mix between Spanish, English, Dutch etc. Hope this helps you out a bit. Martijn
