Spanish term

método de pago: a plazo

Muchas gracias

Discussion

philgoddard Oct 23, 2012:
Most business-to-business transactions are on credit. When you invoice a customer for a translation, asking them to pay within 30 days, you're granting them credit.
Lisa McCarthy Oct 23, 2012:
@ Phil I think that what the invoice is for IS actually relevant: I don´t think 'on credit' would be acceptable for any old product. Every little helps :)
philgoddard Oct 23, 2012:
It does mean "on credit". Payment is due at some date in the future. We don't really need any more context, and it doesn't matter what the invoice is for.
Lisa McCarthy Oct 23, 2012:
@ Karina Is it definitely 'a plazo' as opposed to 'a plazos' which mean 'in installments'?

'A plazo' means 'on credit', which is hardly the case here. Can you provide us with more context? What is the invoice for?

payment method: credit

I think this is what we'd say on an invoice or export document rather than "term payment". It's definition 1, line 5 in my reference.

payment form: term payment

agree Charles Davis : I think "term payment" is the right term here: http://tinyurl.com/9c6r7g8 . The first part could be "form of payment" or "method of payment" or "payment method", but not "payment form".

Thank you Charles both for agreeing and for the link. And you are absolute right about the first part. Cheers, Myriam

disagree philgoddard : That's "a plazos", as Ana pointed out.
