I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from Spanish into American English. it's the translation of the transcription of a Latin American Spanish and English phone conversation.
Do you know the meaning of this English abbreviation?
I think AVD means AVD Cars. Does this abbreviation have any translation into Spanish?
Here is the full paragraph for the context and review:
Jose: Oye, Los otros camiones estan asegurados…. ¿Como estamos haciendo para los camiones? Porque ya se expira la póliza hoy día, este mes, ¿No?
Miguel: I’m working on it. Do you want me to take all the trucks of the “AVD” and put them in the Tacoma, right?
Miguel: They are not going to renew AVD it if they are destroyed. The losses are horrible.
Jose: I know.
Miguel: So I’m taking the trucks off and I’m going to put them in the Tacoma.

A mi entender AWD no se traduce. Se deja como AWD... pero sí concuerdo que verbalmente se le llama "AVD" al igual que sucede con otras siglas como BMW donde no se cambia su escritura pero sí nos referimos al "BMV".

| Carlos, I'm not completely sure but when we listened to the audio several times, we heard AVD. I agree with you that it is a type of coverage or insurance. I just can't figure out which one. The English speaker is speaking English with a lot of slang. Thanks for your help. |
