Cl. girar las costas levy the costs Explanation: Levy in US Am., as in one step away from enforcing the court and legal costs. Note the different spelling of levee, as in the legendary song of American Pie. Remitting - in the sense of transferring as opposed to reducing - the costs doesn't make a lot of sense if the loser has to pay / query: the Chilean Revenue Dept., as in the principle of 'costs follow the event': So: ' potestad de girar las costas que en ellas se decreten cuando resulte vencido el contribuyente.' > the power to draw *such costs as are ordered / awarded* when the tapayer ends up losing the case. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 heures (2021-04-11 10:57:22 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- when the taxpayer.... issue legal costs Explanation: ¿Quién debe pagar las costas judiciales? En principio, estos gastos judiciales que se vayan generando durante el proceso se van abonando por cada una de las partes. No obstante, es obligatorio que al final del proceso se decida sobre el pago de estas costas. En la sentencia final se puede imponer una condena en costas que supone que el juez va a obligar a la persona que pierda el juicio a pagar estos gastos del proceso a la parte vencedora. Alguna de las partes puede solicitar esta condena en un procedimiento, denominado tasación de costas, acompañando dicha solicitud con las facturas y las minutas que justifiquen todos los gastos.
