Discussion

Andrew Mills Feb 22, 2013:
erratum Sorry - to be strictly accurate I shouldn't claim "possible range of onset", but rather "statisically common range of onset"
Andrew Mills Feb 22, 2013:
"Gynecomastia in the parapubertal period" That would cover it nicely.
Andrew Mills Feb 22, 2013:
Peripubertal/parapubertal both seem OK It seems to cover the maximum possible range of onset of puberty:

"a. Chronological Age: Rose (1960) stated that chronological age is an ineffectual guide to the growth and development of facial areas in the parapubertal period, defined as extending from 9 to 18 years. Hunter (1966)"

Thank you very much for your help!

Peripubertal perhaps? I'd think it's most likely a typo or a misused term, they may mean peripubertal gynecomastia, which is the development of breasts at the initial stages of puberty, which is most common. Parapubertal suggests during puberty, but there's little i can offer to support this claim. Adult or adult-onset gynecomastia is the development of breasts after puberty has concluded.
Eva Pividal (asker) Feb 21, 2013:
Sorry i dont get you. The word is PARAPUBERAL but it does not exist as such in spanish although is used in reference to Gynecomastias. (parapubertal is not a spanish word). Here im lost! :)
philgoddard Feb 21, 2013:
It's parapubertal, not parapuberal. I don't know what it means though.
