En espontánea

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Brain injury discharge report
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me with the phrase "En espontánea" in a patient discharge report for a Traumatic Brain Injury patient.
The context is describing his current state, "En espontánea, hemodínámicamente estable, Glasgow 15."
I know with brain trauma patients they are assessed using the Glasgow Coma Scale for being able to do actions spontaneously (e.g. eye opening), but it's the exact phrasing I'm looking for. Maybe I have to add a word or two in the ENG?
Thanks so much in advance if anyone can help!

Joseph Tein Jan 12, 2021:
It looks like they may have shortened the phrase "en respiración espontánea" as seen in this example:

Tras ello, se utilizaron todos los dispositivos (ventilación no invasiva, oxigenoterapia) y fármacos (diuréticos y adrenalina racémica) necesarios para mantener al paciente en respiración espontánea. Si esto fracasaba, se reintubaba al paciente.

Conclusion: Hypoventilation can be detected reliably by pulse oximetry only when patients breathe room air. In patients with spontaneous ventilation, supplemental oxygen often masked the ability to detect abnormalities in respiratory function in the PACU.

neutral liz askew : this may well be the case, particularly as it comes before the GCS.

agree Ashok Pipal : Also Spontaneous breathing or Breathing spontaneously. Two types of breathing references available on net: Spontaneous breathing, assisted ventilation.
