Spanish term

Torretas de suministro

Spanish to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime Marina, dock facilities
"Supply towers" doesn´t seemed to be much used in this context. Are they called something else?? For the UK. Ta!

Torretas de suministro

Discussion

Peter Guest Nov 26, 2010:
herrumbre/óxido/orín is all the same—
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Nov 26, 2010:
Hi Phil I actually meant to say 'supply turrets' instead of 'towers' in my post :) Yes, I've tried it but hasn´t turned up anything very reliable - only collocation is with 'supply' as a verb.
philgoddard Nov 26, 2010:
Thanks. And presumably you've tried "supply turrets"?
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Nov 26, 2010:
Oooh Something really wierd is happening today - that's the second time the text has disappeared on me, even though it was there when I pressed the 'send' button!!

Here's the rest of it, not much though:
Debe estar en perfectas condiciones de mantenimiento sin herrumbres, sin óxidos ni suciedades
philgoddard Nov 26, 2010:
Just a piece of paper with these three words on it?
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Nov 26, 2010:
No, I didn´t :) No further context apart from what I gave and the fact that they're talking about marina/dock facilities.
philgoddard Nov 26, 2010:
You forgot to give us any context.

(power) pedestals

For instance:
"User-friendly supply unit
Our primary goal in developing the T2 pedestal was to create an attractive and user-friendly supply unit for power and water at marinas, harbours and camping sites.
The pedestal is available with 2, 4 or 6 power outlets with the possibility of one- or three-phase."

You might also wish to look at the Web references from the UK.
Note from asker:
Great! Thanks, Frensp :)
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : As your references suggest, it could include water too.

none/Power and Water outlet/Power and water pedestal

Unless this is on a list, it doesn't really have a name in use. Marinas and harbours talk about power and water supply but do not generally name the object you plug into. It's just taken for granted that there's something there other than a pair of bare wires and a bucket. "all berths have 220 V and water supply". "500 berths, fully serviced with power and water"
If you really want to, you could call it a pedestal…
Example sentence:

The marina slips can accommodate vessels from 20 to 150 feet and offer 30 to 100 amp power and water.
