Source text - English Some benefits of the CTL system are as follows:
1. Less landing space is needed since tree processing (felling, limbing, bucking, topping, sorting, and bunching) occurs in the woods and not on the landing. System road damage and surfacing loss/contamination is minimized since the logs are being carried by the forwarder rather than skidded to the landing. The forwarder can take the place of 2 or 3 skidders and, in some cases, a log loader.
2. In many cases the forwarder can off-load directly onto trucks, thereby eliminating the need for a separate log loader and operator at the landing. It is also possible to off-load directly onto trailers left at the roadside.
3. The harvester places tops and limbs in the forwarding trail that provides a “slash cushion” for the forwarder. This cushion reduces the soil displacement, compaction, and erosion potential that is usually associated with traditional ground based systems.

1. Экономия площади для хранения древесины, так как обработка деревьев (валка, обрезка сучьев, раскряжевка, обрезка вершин, сортировка, пакетирование) производится в лесу, а не на лесном складе.
