Hi, everyone, since Windows 7's release, I plan to change my PC system and translation work to the new OS. Currently I run Office 2003 SP2 + SDL Trados 2006 on XP SP2.
But I don't know if the combination can work on Windows 7 (I've got the Ultimate edition now), actually I feel to OK with this, but if under Windows 7, do I need to upgrade to Office 2007+Trados 2007 both, or can I keep the combination? Is there any problem in either situation?

I have no first hand experience, but a friend of mine just bought a Windows 7 machine.
He installed Trados 2007, and manages to start TagEditor, but it behaves erratically, and the cursor won't move to the next segment.
OTOH, I believe other Prozians are running T2007 and Win7 successfully. I don't know what my friend did wrong???

SDL Trados 2007 Suite and Studio 2009 work fine on my PC with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits. The only program I haven't been able to get to work is the SDL TeamWorks 2006 Client (needed to connect to one my client's servers). I wanted to try it in XP Mode, but unfortunately, my PC's hardware doesn't support virtualization

We have just switched to Windows 7 and have mostly had smooth sailing with Trados 2007, so it does work in principle, though I expect there are all sorts of individual circumstances that might make things more complicated.
The biggest issue we have had is using the SDL Trados Server Manager application which won't connect to the server as usual. Has anyone had any issues with this too after switching to Windows 7??

I'm currently setting up a new computer, Word 2003 is working properly but Trados 2006 doesn't want to install (Microsoft Register Server stopped working error message during installation). I am trying to use the tips that are described here

I would be interested to know if there are other things to try...
[rant]I bought this computer in the idea that I could set up two new main partitions for XP and Linux, but it turns out that W7 uses the 4 main partitions, and one of them is dynamic. I am also told that formatting W7 would toast the bios so I can't just erase it as I did with Vista. So I am with a very nice looking new computer with a lot of graphic effects that I can't use for work unless I fork out a plump amount for the upgrades.
I'm considering buying an esata disk to boot from there, and use the internal disk for storage.[/rant]

Hi, since you use Windows 7 Ultimate, you can change your OS to xp mode and under XP you still can use Trados 6.0
