Resumen En este artículo tratamos desde una perspectiva profesional de los servicios de interpretación prestados durante los eventos de la edición de 2009 del Foro Mundial Social, que tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Belém do Pará, en la Amazonía brasileña. Se describen y se clasifican los eventos en función de las diferentes situaciones comunicativas, de la ubicación de los hablantes, del público y de los intérpretes. Por fin, se hacen algunas consideraciones sobre los desafíos profesionales presentes en el FSM 2009 y las soluciones propuestas.
