Italian to English: In Morte della Donna Amata - At the Death of the Woman Beloved General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature

In Morte della Donna Amata
Occhi muti
in tonanti acque impetuose.
Pioggia e nebbia nel cuore.
Lacrime tremolanti,
sorde catene di spazi consunti.
Non soffri ora
i lunghi abeti recisi.
Non piangi ora...
il dolore della mente
più non ti strugge.
Ti sei tuffata nel silenzio.
Ti sei abbandonata
all’oscuro torrente travolgente...
La mia anima per l’eternità
vaga fra quelle acque
alla ricerca della tua ...
... per riportarla alla cheta Luce.
Translation - English Translation of poem (p. 35) from anthology 'Light from Light' (Omniscriptum Publishing Group, 2020) byFrancesco Sartori
At the Death of the Woman Beloved
Your eyes become
thundering, impetuous waters.
The heart fills up with rain and fog.
Teardrops falling, quivering,
like clinking chains from worn-out spaces.
You suffer not
for the tall fir trees fallen down.
You cry not, now...
the mental pain you felt before
consumes you no more.
You immersed yourself in the silence.
You abandoned yourself
to the overwhelming, murky torrent...
For all eternity shall my soul
now wade among those very waters
in search of yours...
...to bring it back into the serene Light.

Viaggio
Sto viaggiando nell’eternità
con te,
incanto del cielo di maggio.
Giorno dopo giorno
cerco la luce del sole,
sonnambulo disperato.
Invano ... invano.
La notte,
sola consolatrice
del mio vagabondare,
dona agli occhi
respiro accecante di bellezza.
Ed io affogo
fra le tue braccia
e mi perdo...
Vivo:
anche le rondini
sono tornate:
forse cercano
il caldo sospiro
della Primavera.
Cieco non più,
vado risalendo
gli abissi
del dolore.
Con te
piango ora
di felicità,
corolla di stelle,
figlia della Luce.

Voyage
Je voyage dans l’éternité
avec toi,
enchantement d’un ciel de mai.
Jour après jour,
je cherche la lumière du soleil,
somnambule désespéré.
Vainement ... vainement.
La nuit,
ma seule consolation
de ce vagabondage,
procure à mes yeux
un répit aveuglant de beauté.
Je tombe alors
dans tes bras
et me perds…
Je vis :
même les hirondelles
sont revenues :
peut-être cherchent-elles
le soupir tiède
d’un nouveau Printemps.
Voyant à nouveau,
je remonte
les abîmes
de la douleur.
Avec toi
dès lors je pleure
de félicité,
corolle d’étoiles,
fille de la lumière.

Grovigli ricami
La notte è il contrappunto
del giorno e con questi si contorce
in un amplesso che ricuce
i nostri tempestosi richiami,
alitando un soffio infinito di vita:
grovigli che solo alla fine
scopriremo meravigliosi ricami.
