Being a freelancer has worked very well for our family as well; since my husband has had his own business for over 30 years, we are accustomed to the particularities of working from the home, such as scheduling and payment issues, the tyranny and freedom of having your own business, and so forth. Professional improvement is an ongoing concern for me ; I am awaiting results of several certification exams, and preparing for certification as a medical interpreter, coming up in 2012.
