heat gain

heat gain in system from "thermostat"...
I hesitate using "thermostat" without knowing the context. A thermostat is a device that regulates/controls temperature. The Russian "termostat" has other meanings....

A \"thermostat\" neither gives off nor takes in heat - it simply sits there and regulates it. At least that is my understanding, and I would look for another translation of the word. But heat gain and heat loss are common expressions in physics and many other scientific fields. But that\'s just my opinion...

Also, you might want to check out the differences between heat inflow, heat influx, heat flux - research is the secret of it all!!

heat increase from the thermostat into the system

The entire statement is rather confusing, but from what you've described, this should be more appropriate :)

It would help if you were to post more of the context :)
