the actual transcript Joseph, after reading your question, I read it again. What it states is: "Estás perdonado que, que lo hiciste." Sorry for the confusion to everyone.

Hey Mike, wait a minute: the heading of your question says 'estas perdonado que lo hiciste' but the transcribed sentence reads 'estas perdonado que lo QUE hiciste' ¿What does it say in the recording?

I think that Sery's and femme's translations are too clean; they actually make SENSE - whereas the so-called interpreter's syntax is garbled. David's version shows more of this garble - except I would take out the word 'for' which is not in the Spanish.

The interpreter conveys the wrong message, telling the suspect to tell them he has been forgiven. Who knows what he/she understood?

I think this is one way to maintain the confusing sentence structure and the error on the interpreter's part.

This is what I come up with using the text in the body of the info for the questions. A few months ago I had to to a transcript that had error (rather horrores) like these. This is a bear. Luck good wish I to you (just couldn't help it) ; )
