Hago una traducción para una organización en España que provee viviendas a través el pais, sobre todo para mujeres inmigrantes.
El término piso-puente se encuentra en el texto, lo que no encuentro en ningún diccionario.
Sería: 'temporary housing' en inglés?

Re: Lack of discernment Personally I would investigate further than just the top ten, but perhaps I'm wrong regarding your criterion and the right answer just comes from experience of what fits the context best. Who knows, "transitional housing" may sound right to some translators! ;-)

Re: Lack of discernment I can agree with that assertion: I looked back at the google.co.uk results referenced below and by my estimation, 3 of the top 10 "halfway housing" +immigration results were irrelevant, as compared to 6 for "interim housing" +immigration and 1 for "transitional housing" +immigration.

"Halfway housing" may be better than "interim housing", but I maintain that "transitional housing" is the best of all :)

Lack of discernment in google seaches you also need to read the hits, and determine if they are applicable to the context or not. I'm sure if you take the time you'll see that the "interim housing" hits are largely generic and not specific to this context.

Google results with context Hi Edward, when searching UK websites, and adding "immigration" to the search query, I still get transitional>interim>halfway. What could we be doing differently?

Results 1 - 10 of about 329 for site:.uk "transitional housing" immigration

And using www.google.co.uk with "pages from the UK" option:

google results the important thing regarding google hits is to define the context of the search. "Interim housing" is such a broad term that it will inevitably have most hits if searched for alone. However, if you add the word "immigration" to the search, "halfway housing" is clearly ahead.

neutral Muriel Vasconcellos : In my experience, 'halfway housing' refers to persons leaving an institution and not yet able to cope in society. I live 20 minutes from an international border and have never heard of 'halfway housing' for immigrants.
