Dessert shooters
The National Restaurant Association (NRA) predicted it in their 2008 forecast: small plates, especially desserts would be among the fastest growing trends this year. Apparently the execs at Applebee’s took note of the NRA list, because now the casual dining chain is offering Dessert Shooters.
For around $1.99 customers can choose from Strawberry Shortcake, Hot Fudge and other desserts flavors, served in little clear cups. Currently these small, highly controlled portions are gaining popularity with people trying to watch their weight and tired of oversized portions. However, I wonder if those singing the praises of Applebee’s mini desserts would be thrilled to know that they are still consuming a sizeable 300 calories?

Urban Dictionary
1. Shooter 128 up, 7 down love it hate it
A type of spirit with high alcohol content, typically 70+ proof (35%+ alcohol by volume), which is drank in "shots", typically 1-1.5 ounces.
I don't feel like beer tonight, get some shooters instead.
