German term
Verzichtwechsel
German to English
Law/Patents
This word appears in a marriage contract in the section entitled 'Bestehende Zugewinnausgleichsansprüche'.
'Auf bisher entstandene etwaige Ansprüche auf Zugewinnausgleich verzichten wir und nehmen den Verzichtwechsel beidseitig an.'
Does anyone know what this could mean?
Thanks in advance.

Waiver or renunciation
Waiver is a kind of exemption, usually one time, while renunciation is letting go of all rights to it. Probably waive and waiver would fit here.

On second thoughts, since this involves marriage, renunciation may be more correct.
