English Other Religion Gospel campaign
We have just returned from the last meeting of this Gospel campaign here in XXXX and we are all on cloud-nine. The attendance peaked tonight at 500,000 priceless souls, each one eternally valuable because Christ sought them in pain, blood and love. He wants them, even at the cost of the death-rack of the cross. The title deeds of His purchase are in His hands - His wounds. ***If we were sensitive to such extremities to*** seek and save the lost, would we want anything except what He wants?
“Christ love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and those who live should no longer live for themselves.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)

What is the sense of extremities here?

moments at which death or ruin is imminent.

one step before moments where death or ruin is about to occur.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Armorel Young : I don't see where you get the idea of "moments" from - this isn't meant in any time-related sense

go to great lengths/in depth/to a great extent

AS a single mother, she has gone to great lengths to provide for her children (meaning she has made a huge effort, often sacrificing her own needs).

The other two words are similar. I'm sure one of these would work, especially in the context of Christ, since he gave His all to the human race...

beyond ordinary

One may say that the ordinary human is unable to live a single minute the way Christ lived.
