That sounds natural to me even though it doesn't convey the physical commotion involved.

tried so hard to please, detailing every last ingredient in each dish, that we/I/you lost our appetite.

All depending on how the passage reads overall, you could make it sound more revolting by adding "slimy." Or, that might be too much embellishment.

... the waiters were so overly helpful, the way they detailed the ingredients of every dish, that we lost our appetite ...

... the waiters were so slimy with their overly helpful briefing on every ingredient of every item on the menu, that we felt like skipping dinner altogether ...
