French term

incision cutanée de type LTISO

French to English Medical Medical (general)
I am translating an operative report for a laparoscopic myomectomy. The above phrase is used to describe the type of incision. It will probably take an OR nurse for this one.
Any help appreciated.

I am not argumentative by nature so if experienced people think there is no problem in doing so, I will indicate the country.
It is Senegal.Jessie

Hi, I am afraid I am unable to help further. Further responses may be forthcoming were you to post your context in French. I don't see what is wrong with saying which country is involved.
SJLD Aug 28, 2010:
Telling us what flavour of French this is will have no effect on confidentiality. It is important information. By "not an English speaking country", do you mean it's not Canada? Canada is bilingual English-French AFAIK.
Jessie Nelson (asker) Aug 28, 2010:
Thank you so much for your answer.
I am reluctant to post the country for confidentiality reasons.
t is not an English speaking country
Jessie Nelson (asker) Aug 28, 2010:
HI liz,
Its the abdomen. Myomas are located in the utrus.
But it is sometimes done laparoscopically.

liz askew Aug 28, 2010:
Which part of the body is being sutured?
SJLD Aug 28, 2010:
questions Which country does this come from (e.g. Canada > chance of English acronym)
What format is source document? Handwritten, OCR? Risk of typo? Transcription error?

IMO there's a fait chance that it is an English acronym with LT being low transverse (incision) - but not sure how the rest fits in. It's certainly not a standard acronym - which makes me think it's either an in-house term or an error.
Jessie Nelson (asker) Aug 27, 2010:
Thanks Chris. But I need to know what the letters stand for, as their order in English may be different.

agree SJLD : good suggestion - "ligature des trompes" was my next suggestion had my questions been answered/of course in a laparoscopic procedure there are at least 2 incisions. A bit of context would have helped... but we are SO worried about confidentiality ;-)
