Stocul de siguranta poate constitui atat un element salvator cat si un element incomod in activitatea unei companii. Un stoc de siguranta prea mare poate satisface orice comanda exceptionala, dar are un cost ridicat. In schimb, un stoc de siguranta redus asigura un anumit confort financiar dar poate sa puna in pericol disponibilitatea de livrare catre clienti. De aceea, folosirea stocului de siguranta optim constituie un element deosebit de important, care poate aduce bani suplimentari la bugetul companiei.
