Playlist Of course it all depends on what the source sentence means. Classic rock is a term for rock music from a specific era. On the face of it, the sentence means that she likes to listen to that particular music. It doesn't mean that she lives a rocknroll kind of life. If that were the case I think she would have written "I am a true Rocker"

Pertinent entry. Autour de moi, "vraie rockeuse" réfère au rock des belles années. Mais considérant la ?, il serait peut-être mieux d'aller vers quelque chose comme "Je suis du genre rock classique" ou "mordue de..."

Upon [ DEEP :)) ] reflection, "true" should rather refer to "classic rock". "True classic rock". That's how I read this sentence. It makes no real sense for the adjective to be related to "kind of girl". Either one loves classic rock, or one desn't. On the contrary, whether a certain kind of music is, or is not, "true classic rock", is something that can be debated.

The classic rock era ended in the early 80s, with the rise of modern pop music. It should not be confused with other rock genres like glam rock (e.g. David Bowie), heavy metal (e.g. Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica) and hair metal (e.g. Poison and Motley Crue). Even though new bands sometimes mimic the classic rock sound (e.g. The Black Crowes), they are not considered a true classic rock band because they are in the wrong era (not early 60s to early 80s).

These are songs and bands that came onto the scene in the 1990´s and early 2000´s, and will some day be able to be listed as true classic rock.

I wasn't very precise, so I'd like to further specify that IMHO:

- it makes sense to say "I'm a true / classic rock / LOVER"

- it doesn't make sense to say "I'm a true / classic rock / kind of girl"

- it makes sense to say "I'm a / true classic rock / kind of girl".
