Spanish term

pasado anterior

Spanish to English Other Linguistics
I suspect that this is the name of the future perfect tense.
A text about a photographer:

Si bien sus vistas de la ciudad parecen mostrar un pasado anterior, es decir, nos ofrecen a menudo lo que muy posiblemente va a desaparecer, hay en sus imágenes de durmientes, en las siluetas que imaginan la promesa del paraíso desde el puerto o en los campos donde se espera para cruzar el Estrecho, una anticipación, un tiempo por venir.

seems like a normal question but now I have my doubts ... what exactly are you asking?

It is said that the city has an antique look.

Here pasado anterior refers to an old or antique look. It is said that the city has an antique look.
Pasado anterior is redundant because the past already happened. Its just a poetic way to say it.
I dont know if I have explained myself.
It has nothing to do with the name of the future perfect tense. I hope this helps

seem to show/evoke a lost time

The literal translation, "a previous past", would be too convoluted in my opinion.

bygone age

I think that's the idea - the photos are of the present, but they seem to show/evoke a bygone age.

In this context, pasado = age and anterior = bygone

future past

"seem to offer a glimpse of/ seem to evoke a future past..." Based on the text as a whole. "Future perfect", might be misleading to many readers.He/she is being prescient, anticipating a future past state.
