@Cassandra Just looked up "Lease-Purchase". It seems to be American. In England and Wales, people purchase a lease on a property and are then considered its owners, even if in a less secure position than if they had purchased the freehold. A lease on residential property might be as long as 999 years and the ground rent can be anything from really exhorbitant to a peppercorn. So, it depends what country your translation is for. It is a pity that KudoZ doesn't provide a box for Askers to give that information, particularly on legal questions.

A Lease-Purchase Contract, also known as a Lease Purchase Agreement, is the heart of rent-to-own properties. It combines elements of a traditional rental agreement with an exclusive right of first refusal option for later purchase on the home. It is a shortened name for Lease with Option to Purchase Contract.
But that is not to say I will not accept Philgoddard's suggestion!

@Cassandra No "lease-purchase" is quite wrong as (without the hyphen) it means something totally different. Why not accept the correct term suggested by philgoddard?

Not "hire purchase"! "Hire purchase" is for a car, a TV or a washing machine, not for a house! You don't "hire" a house, you "rent" it.
