I happened to find this subject described as "Ekonomi bërthamë apo e avancuar", a couple of times.
We know that some word will need to be thrown there, hence "Advanced Economy" is a good possibility, IMO.
I would use this, and just tell the client "that's what I used, and want to make sure that, it is alright with you (it being a very technical term)".

I did see that "core curriculum" gets somewhat close, in my research. However, that seemed more of a course description, rather than a subject in Secondary School Diploma. I am not saying that I disagree and neither that I agree with your statement

I thought you were referring to a university degree subject.
In this regard, the correct term should be Economics (core curriculum). Core curriculum refers to a set of courses that students must complete before they move to the next level in their education, either in primary or secondary school.
