français term

Vacc. Rang.

COVID-19 français vers anglais Médecine Médecine (général)
The term appears on a Haitian vaccination card (Carte nationale de vaccination) after the bio-data section, i.e. name, sex, date of birth. The line reads as follows:

Vacc. Rang. ____________ Page ____________

Is this related to a vaccination registry, where the holder's entry would be at a certain row (rangée?) and page?

Discussion

Ethan Tufford (asker) Sep 20, 2022:
@Sue No. This is not a field on the certificate.
Sue Davis Sep 19, 2022:
doesn't it ask for the level of vaccination of the person in question?
Ethan Tufford (asker) Sep 18, 2022:
Term related to bio-data or registry This term is not found in the section regarding the administration of vaccines. It is found on the bio-data page of the certificate. Therefore, I don't think it has any relation to the "vaccine range" or "rank".

The page reads as follows:

Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population et Les Centres pour le développement et la Santé

1. Commune ________
2. Établissement ________
3. Poste de rassemblement ________
4. Nom de famille ________ Prénom ________
5. Sexe: M ☐ F ☐
6. Date de naissance ________
7. Immatriculation ________
Vacc. Rang. ________ Page ________
Sue Davis Sep 18, 2022:
that is a good point Phil more context would help
philgoddard Sep 18, 2022:
The only thing is the period/full stop after the word, suggesting it's an abbreviation. But that could be a mistake.
Gabrielle Leyden Sep 18, 2022:
rang definitely "rang" = ranking, probably meaning 1st shot, 2nd-3rd-4th booster, etc. The period after "rang" doesn't mean anything, in my humble opinion.
Tony M Sep 18, 2022:
@ Asker I somehow think your are being led astray with the idea of 'rangée'.
I suspect this is more 'rang' (not actually abbreviated at all) with the sense of 'rank' or 'order' — we find this in things like the order of birth of 2 twins.
I can't quite see how this applies to vaccination either, but perhaps there is a local system that requires it to be noted.
Does your document actually have anything filled in after it? That might help to narrow down the possibilities.
Tony M Sep 18, 2022:
@ Cristina Unlikely, I'd have thought: 'rang' in FR hardly ever means 'range' in EN, and your suggestion wouldn't really seem to make much sense in EN anyway.
vaccine range "Gamma had high viral load inferred from Ct values < 30 despite having received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine (range from > 1 month after first dose to > 5 months after second dose); two were previously infected"

"In this study, the duration of neutralizing antibody response in patients with solid cancers was significantly longer after the Moderna vaccine (range, 221-226 days, depending on the SARS-CoV-2 variant) than after the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (range, 146-161 days)."

Ethan Tufford (asker) Sep 18, 2022:
I wonder how "vacc." would be part of this abbreviation. "vaccination rangée" / "vaccin rangée" doesn't make sense to me.

Non, pour les adultes et les mineurs de seize ans et plus, il n’est pas nécessaire de demander au patient de confirmer son consentement par écrit et ce quel que soit le rang de vaccination (primo-vaccination, rappel).
