This is an entry in a dictionary for an online publishing website. I'm not quite sure what "harmonisation" means in this context, although I get the impression that sites are being merged perhaps.

Another suggestion, I agree with the explanation below. It just seems to me that harmonisation is more used in a legal context.

harmonisation
looks like you could use the same term in context. As you say it seems to mean bringing the various sites into line, streamlining procedure etc.

: Sounds very much like this is about merging the websites and their respective member account databases. "Unification" would be more appropriate in that context.
