Cannot provide full phrase but, the passage is outlining the case study of these 'redeiras gallegas' who create accessories from reused items.

I'm thinking along the lines of 'galician artisan crafters'? / crafty collective?

Lots of hits on Google for source but not anything in the way of suggested translation, so I assume it is fairly colloquial. Perhaps a native could also suggest the type of register this might be and the appropriate equivalence?

female net menders


Explanation:
The above answer is actually correct, but if you want to be more specific, remember the genders. We have male + female in spanish.

The rederas (red: net. Fishing net to be more specific) were the women in charge of making the fishing nets and its a job that was particularly for women in the Franco dictatorship in the ports of Galicia. Recently in 2018 they counted the people working in this trade and there were 600+ out of which, less than 100 were men. So, I don´t know if you want to make the specification.
