Helmikuun alussa ensimmäisen kerran esiintynyt näköhäiriö, sahalaita esiintyi näkökentässä ja laaajentui. Potilas tarkistanut ja näköhäiriö oli molempien silmien näkökentässä. Ei ollut puheongelmia eikä raajaoireita eikä puutumista. Kun näköhäiriö korjaantui, tuli valtava päänsärky, voimakkuudeltaan 8/10 VAS. Vastaavia kohtauksia esiintynyt yhteensä noin kuusi kertaa. Potilaan mukaan kaikki ovat toistuneet täsmälleen samalla tavalla. Näköhäiriön kesto 0.5-1.5 tuntia. Päänsärky on koko päässä, aivan invalidisoivaa. Pahenee rasituksessa. Huomattava ääni-ja valoherkkyys. Lisäksi pahoinvointia. Buranaa on ottanut kerrallaan 800 mg ja sillä päänsäryn kesto 20 minuuttia – 1 tunti. Muutaman kerta kuitenkin päänsärky helpottunut vain nukkumalla. Ei ole huomannut altistavia tekijöitä. Säännölliset elämäntavat. Ei tupakoi.
Käännös - English 22 year old healthy male. Studying to be a pilot. Mother had migraine in her youth. The first sight disorder, jagged edges, showed in the field of vision and kept growing, in the beginning of Feb. The patient has checked this and the disorder was apparent in both eyes. No problems with speech nor any symptoms in limbs nor any numbing. When the disorder corrected he experienced a heavy headache, 8/10 VAS in strength. Similar attacks have occurred ca six times. According to the patient, every single one exactly the same way. The attacks last 0.5 to 1.5 hours. The headache is not centralised but the whole head seems affected and is debilitating. Worse when stressed. Considerable noise and light sensitivity. Also nausea. Has taken Burana in 800mg doses with which headache lasts from 20 minutes to 1 hour. A few times only sleep has given relief. Hasn’t noticed any contributing factors. Regular habits. Doesn’t smoke.

I am a professional full-time translator/ editor specialising in medical, legal, financial and commercial translations.
My qualifications are BA 1st in English and an MBA from Warwick University, UK. My 20 year career as a management consultant/ project manager/ HR specialist in blue chip companies in Finland, Denmark and the UK, such as IBM and Ernst & Young, gives me an excellent background for translating financial articles, bids & tenders, project documentation or annual reports etc.
I have specialised in medical translations now for over 10 years, and have a wealth of experience in translating patient histories, medical white papers, pharmaceutical brochures, medication particulars etc.
I am a published author and a member of Society of Authors' Translators Association in the UK.
My other interests include sailing, cooking, classic cars and bikes, and I can therefore produce good translations in all of these areas.
Lastly, I am very disciplined. I deliver exactly what is required, be that a back translation, translation, edit or proofread, and always on time. I will always ask whether the assignment is for publication or information and also query any points that may be unclear. As a published author, I can translate something in the style of the author, adapt a text culturally or, rewrite a text in plain English/ Finnish, if required.
