Source text - English On Wednesday 23 February, the DfE replied to our proposal to set up a free school in September.
Although the DfE agreed that there is a clear rationale behind our proposal, they have highlighted several points to build on, specifically around our proposed
admission and assessment policies and evidence that there is sufficient demand for the free school.
They also raised concerns about the premises and assets, as a formal agreement would need to be in place with the EC in Brussels before September.
We acknowledge that there are still areas to work on, mostly due to the tight deadlines we had.

Source text - English The CEF project team was set up as an urgent task force to try to set up a new free school for September 2011. The Department for Education (DfE) is still discussing possibilities but remains concerned that the timescale might be too tight. One of the key concerns is the time required to complete negotiations with the European Schools Board of Governors (BoG) in Brussels on how a new school would share the ESC site. However, the CEF project team is continuing to address all the issues raised by the DfE. A draft agreement on shared premises has been prepared and will be submitted to the next ES BoG on 13 April.
In order to persuade the DfE and the BoG to continue working on a September 2011 opening, we need your support to demonstrate that there is continuing strong parental demand to open a new school this year.
CESPA is currently embarking on a whole-school parent survey with reference to the longer-term future of European education at Culham. We warmly welcome this survey.
However, given that the results of this survey may not be ready on time for the 13 April BoG, we have therefore decided to conduct a quick one-question feedback survey of prospective and current parents.
