Conferencia Mundial de los Pueblos Indígenas
La Asamblea General decidió, en su resolución A/RES/65/198 de 21 de diciembre de 2010, organizar una reunión plenaria de alto nivel de la Asamblea General en el 2014, que recibió el nombre de Conferencia Mundial de los Pueblos Indígenas.
De conformidad con el párrafo 8 de la resolución 65/198 el objetivo principal de la Conferencia Mundial de los Pueblos Indígenas es el de intercambiar puntos de vista y las mejores prácticas sobre la realización de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas, incluido el cumplimiento de los objetivos de la Declaración de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos del los Pueblos Indígenas.
La Resolución 65/198 invita al Presidente de la Asamblea General para llevar a cabo consultas abiertas con los Estados miembros y con los representantes de los pueblos indígenas en el marco del Foro Permanente para las Cuestiones Indígenas, así como el Mecanismo de Expertos sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas y el Relator Especial sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas, a fin de determinar las modalidades de la reunión, incluyendo la participación de los pueblos indígenas en la Conferencia.
Los tres mandatos de la ONU como son el Foro Permanente para las Cuestiones Indígenas, el Mecanismo de las Naciones Unidas de Expertos sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas y el Relator Especial de Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas, han iniciado conversaciones sobre la Conferencia Mundial, en consonancia con la resolución 65 / 198.
El Foro Permanente dio la bienvenida a la oportunidad y la responsabilidad de jugar un papel central en los preparativos de la Conferencia Mundial.

World Conference on Indigenous Peoples
In its resolution A/RES/65/198 from December 21, 2010, the General Assembly decided to organize a high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly in 2014, which came to be known as the Word Conference on Indigenous Peoples.
In accordance with paragraph 8 of resolution 65/198, the main objective of the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples is to exchange views and best practices regarding the realization of the rights of indigenous peoples, including fulfillment of the objectives of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Resolution 65/198 encourages the President of the General Assembly to carry out open consultations with member states and representatives of indigenous peoples, in the framework of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The objective is to determine the specifics of the meeting, including the participation of indigenous peoples in the conference.
These three UN mandates, the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, have begun talks on the World Conference in accordance with resolution 65/198.
The Permanent Forum welcomed the opportunity and responsibility to play a central role in preparing for the World Conference.

“Semana Internacional de la Moda en Madrid”, celebrada en dos ediciones, febrero y julio, en Madrid (IFEMA), donde los expositores de Illes Balears presentan sus nuevas colecciones en moda y piel en el marco del desarrollo, innovación y diseño como elemento imprescindible para su internacionalización, en la búsqueda de nuevas redes comerciales y planificación de estrategias de promoción.
El Govern de les Illes Balears, a través de la Conselleria de Comerç, Indústria i Energía –CDEIB–, está representado en estas dos ediciones, en la edición de febrero presente en dos sectores bien diferenciados: en Sector Alma Tierra donde se presenta la moda Ad-lib, con unas 26 empresas participantes, casi todas de Ibiza, y Sector Iberpiel, dónde se presentan las empresas de moda en piel, unas 7 todas de Mallorca. En cambio, en la edición de julio se presentan sólo las colecciones de verano y únicamente están presentes las empresas de moda Ad-lib, unas 26 empresas, la mayoría de ellas de Ibiza ubicadas en una superficie de unos 450 m2 en el Sector Alma Tierra.

Throughout 2008, the CDEIB has worked with various industry sectors, providing them the economic resources necessary to promote their participation in various NATIONAL and EUROPEAN FAIRS. We have also spurred their development and promotion through a variety of COLLABORATIONS and CONFERENCES.

“International Fashion Week in Madrid” is held in Madrid in two editions – one in February and one in July – through IFEMA (Trade Fair Institution of Madrid). Exhibitors from the Balearic Islands showcase their latest fashions and leather collections in the framework of development, innovation and design. This is essential to their ability to expand internationally, establish new commercial networks and plan promotion strategies.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (CDEIB) will represent the Government of the Balearic Islands in both editions. In the February edition, it will have a presence in two very different sectors: the Alma Tierra Sector, where 26 companies (almost all from Ibiza) will exhibit Ad Lib fashion; and the Iberpiel Sector, where 7 leather fashion companies from Mallorca will display their products. In contrast, only the summer collections and Ad Lib fashion companies will participate in the July edition. There will be 26 companies, most from Ibiza, located in a 450 m2 space in the Alma Tierra Sector.
