Why is translation by a native speaker essential for quality? Because someone who studies a foreign language, even to university degree level, is unlikely to acquire the ability to write that language as well as a person who grew up in a country where it is spoken every day. Our translations into English are ALWAYS written by an English native speaker, and our translations into Japanese by a Japanese native speaker.
Why go to the trouble of having a second translator check the work? Because of the obvious truth that humans are prone to error. Any honest translator will accept this. The only way to eliminate human error is to have the translation checked by a second pair of eyes. Like many of our competitors, we could skip that stage and make more money by working faster, but we don't compromise on quality.
