I am a Translation and Interpreting postgraduate from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as well as Sworn Translator from English into Catalan appointed by the Generalitat de Catalunya. My main working languages are Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian and Arabic. I have also completed my translation studies at the School of Translators and Interpreters (ETIB) of Beirut (Lebanon) and at the University of Birmingham (UK). In parallel to my studies, I have studied Italian, French, German, Lebanese and Moroccan dialects.
Pursuing a specialisation in legal translation at European and international level, I have attended legal translation courses of English and Arabic. My Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Translation from English to Spanish gave me the opportunity to learn the Spanish legal system and the Common law, integrated in the European and international law.
I have 5 years experience working as in-house Translator, where I translate all types of documents for both public and private entities, with a capacity of 2,500 words per day in translations from English into Spanish, as well as certificates and short legal documentation that must be presented to the authorities on the same day, with a record of 30 short documents per day.
Moreover, I worked for a year and two months in the Delegation of the Balearic Islands to the European Union in Brussels, where I had the opportunity to get into the institutional translation (EN/FR/IT > ES/CAT).
I have also experience as a volunteer Translator (EN/AR> CAT/ES) and Proofreader (CAT / ES) in several NGOs, which gave me the first opportunity to learn to deal with the client and work with deadlines. |
