Source text - Spanish Hay veces que tu cuerpo te traiciona. Te dá los desafios más grandes y absurdos que jamás creías te lo ibas a pasar. Y sigue por años, a veces para siempre, enseñándote que tú no mandas en él por más que creas tener el control.
¡Es TU cuerpo! El que naciste y creciste, y en el que ya vives por años y que crees conocerlo mejor que nadie.
¡Cuánto te equivocas!
Tu cuerpo es un mundo propio en que lleva un cerebro en el topo que te hace creer ser el dueño de todo. ¡No eres el dueño ni de tu cerebro! A veces creo que este, con tus otros órganos, y la piel, y la sangre, y las venas y arterias, y nervios, se van de marcha, a tomarse unas copas, solo para poder hablar de ti. Se ríen de nosotros tomándonos el pelo.
Translation - English As vezes seu corpo lhe trai. Dá a você os maiores e mais absurdos desafios que nunca pensou que conseguiria superar. E continua durante anos, as vezes para sempre, ensinando-lhe que não está sob o seu controle, mesmo que pense que esteja.
É o SEU corpo! Aquele em que nasceu e cresceu, aquele em que viveu durante anos e pensa que o conhece melhor do que ninguém.
Como se equivoca!
O seu corpo é um mundo próprio, com um cérebro no topo que lhe faz pensar que você é dono de tudo. Você nem sequer é dono do seu cérebro! Às vezes acho que nosso cérebro, junto com os outros órgãos, e pele, e sangue, e veias e artérias, e nervos, saem para a balada, para tomar uns "drinks", só para poderem falar de si. Eles riem da gente só para nos provocar.

I was born in Brazil but raised here (Brazil) and in Spain.Mymother language is Portuguese, but not necessarily is the only language I have native level.
I have been working as a freelancer translator for English, Spanish and Portuguese since 1991. Most of that time I was living in Spain (Madrid and Barcelona) and then in the United States (California).
I have worked for many companies and had total adaptation to the culture of those countries. And I also have American citizenship.
In Brazil, I taught English and Spanish at an elementary school and in private courses - I was the Spanish Teacher Coordinator for inFlux Sagrada Familia, in Belo Horizonte, MG. In California, I taught English in Yolo County.
I have also worked for Sutter Health Foundation and Kayser Permanente, both medical and business translator, and consecutive interpreter.
Currently,I am doing my BA in Translation and Interpreter, and post-grad in Translation and Proofreading.
