As a native English speaker, and a first-generation member of a Dutch family, I am skilled in understanding the contexts of source texts as well as their technical meanings. As a Fulbright-Hays scholar in Indonesia (2002), I have spent a total of 29 months living in Sumatra and Java, and earned my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan based on research conducted during these times. My dissertation involved large amounts of translating from Dutch and Indonesian sources. I have translated professionally since 2003, and specialize in academic texts. |
