Tourism webinar Aug 25, 2013

1)Is this almost the same as the one I attended and which was conducted in French? I don't think it was you who conducted it. It was called Zoom sur la traduction de textes touristiques. Is it a repeat or different and will we have a certificate?
2) Will we be shown templates and how to change them?
Thank you

Hello Josephine,

Thank you for your interest in the training.

As you have mentioned, this is another training with other topics to discuss. As always, a certificate of attendance will be issued shortly after the session. All participants will have a certificate of attendance in their profiles available for download.

You may learn about the topics to be discussed from the Program area at the training page.

Also, all participants are welcome to share their ideas of possible topics to be added to the session program here in the forum.

Thank you for your suggestion, Josephine. Since you are interested in templates, this will be added to the program accordingly. In case you have more ideas, please feel free to submit a forum post here or share them via support, http://www.proz.com/support/

Thanks!

My bests,
Helen

Tourism Webinar Aug 29, 2013

Hi Josephine!

Thank you for your message.
No, it will be a different webinar compared to the one in French. I used to be a Travel Agent myself and do know where it hurts, so you will also have the option to ask me anything you ever wanted to ask on Travel & Tourism!
You will be sent the material about a day or two before the session in order to prepare.

Looking forward to seeing you on-line!
Best regards,
Irene

Hi Irene,
is this webinar intended for professionals working from other langugaes into English or can it be also useful for translators with English as a source language?
Thank you
Pierluigi

Ciao Pierluigi!

The content is meant to be "borderless" but due to the presentation language many of the examples would be from or into English. The scope is to give you an idea of the best practices rather than concentrate on a specific language combination.

Best regards,
Irene

Will this seminar include tips on how and where to look for direct clients? Sep 11, 2013

Hi Irene,
I live in San Francisco and due to the time difference will not be able to attend live unfortunately. I am very much interested in getting into translation for tourism and was wondering if your talk will include some tips and suggestions on how to best find direct clients?
Best,
Noelle

Hi Noelle!

Thank you for your message. I am afraid that this topic will not be discussed in this session. If that would be one of your main interests then this webinar would not really cover your needs. A session that would well provide you with such tips is this one: "Starting to work as a translator, gaining experience, improving services provided, spreading the word" on October 3rd and this one "Starting your translation business: Your Business Plan" on November 7th. Hope to see you on-line on one of them or both (they are a couple of hours later than this one).

Best regards,
Irene

Hello Nicole,

Thank you for your interest in the session. If you do not attend the live session you will still have unlimited access to the video and handouts shortly after the webinar. A certificate of attendance will be available for download from your ProZ.com profile.

Hope this helps.

My bests,
Helen
