Three Jun 14

One monitor for my translation tool, one for my browser and e-mail client and the tiny 17-inch laptop thing for Tidal

Just one! Jun 14

As I said before (similar question), the ideal would be two, but I only have one and no place to fit another. So, maybe the day I'll move to a bigger place...

It depends... Jun 14

It depends. If I'm using a CAT tool or Cloud I only need 1 screen so I use my 15.6 PC screen but if I'm checking numbers especially, I like to use 2 screens so I check the source and target without needing to minimise and reload and find that I work better like that as I easily miss things like that.

I used to use 2 Jun 14

But got a 43" monitor now, so it's one only.

Two Jun 14

Two screens, but on the primary screen I use seven spaces (virtual screens).

It depends on how well they communicate via that channel Jun 16

I love
those clients
who write
two or three
words at a time
on Whatsapp
and hit "Send".
Your phone
keeps beeping
every two seconds.
They sound
like Christopher Walken.

Just one Jun 16

I tried it with two, but that involves moving my head from side to side by too much for it to have any benefit over just using the taskbar properly. That said, I do have a relatively nice wide monitor (2560x1440, 27 inch). My daughter uses two (gaming and chatting) and my son uses three (gaming, chatting and school work).

Same. My desk is such a mess that even though I have a portable little extra monitor, I wouldn't be able to put it anywhere.

Some translators prefer a vertical arrangement. Especially for the combination laptop + external screen.

Unknown

Or, to keep both screens more or less at the same vertical line:

I've tried it with one monitor slightly in front of the other monitor, but the second monitor is closer to my eyes, which means that I have to refocus every time I switch to a different monitor, and that makes my eyes tired.

I would not be able to work with the setup that you show in the picture, because I prefer to look straight and slightly down, not up, when I work. Indeed, this was something that I considered when buying a new monitor: whether the monitor can move down all the way to the desk.
