Description
This session addresses all Trados users, who already are using the software on daily basis for translation, however would like to learn to take more advantages of it.

Please note, that you already should know what a “translation memory”, “tag”, “match”, “ini-file” are.

Important information!
This training adresses SDL Trados 2007 Suite. You will need to bring your own laptop with installed software. During the training there will be no time for installation issues.

Part one - preparing special texts for translation, using Word (approx. 45 min)
  • preparing of program listings or similar with text part, which shall remain untranslated
  • creating an own macro for this, using the macro recorder in Word

Part two– advanced features of SDL Trados 2007 Suite (approx. 2 h)
  • maintenance function and filters
  • segmentation rules, users lists
  • advanced substitution localization
  • tag protection and document protection
  • correcting file segmentation in ttx-format
  • translation of xml files
  • further tips and tricks
  • project translation memory (available only in Professional version) and administration of translation memories

Part three – DTP applications (approx. 2 h)
  • translating Framemaker files, using S-Tagger
  • usage of Font Mapper
  • translating of InDesign files (CS2/3)
  • Story Collectors

Part four – MultiTerm (approx. 45 min)
  • adding entries in MultiTerm
  • maintenance of entries, fields
  • filters

Part five – Q&A (as long as necessary)
  • Questions and answer, which couldn’t be answered during the training
