Olá a todos!
Se tiverem de traduzir "He is on probation", "Ele está em liberdade condicional" seria a tradução mais óbvia.
Mas, se tiverem de reduzir os caracteres, traduzir "Ele está em condicional" parece demasiado calão ou as pessoas entendem dado o contexto ter a ver com Direito, Tribunais, etc.?

Para reduzir caracteres, a primeira coisa que eu faria era tirar o "ele", depois dizer "em condicional" parece-me ficar claro em contexto jurídico. Aliás, a net tem alguns exemplos disso:

O "ele" só se estiver a traduzir em português do Brasil, porque em português europeu o verbo já define o sujeito, a não ser que tenhamos forçosamente de reforçar o pronome ou, caso não haja qualquer referência ao sujeito antes.
Concordo com a Teresa, "estar em (liberdade) condicional" já remete para o campo da justiça.
