Bio:Over the past 14 years, I have gained extensive experience working as a freelancer and in-house translator. I taught translation and interpreting at the School of Continuing Education of the American University in Cairo (AUC) until I left Egypt. I am currently a transla...tor with the Crescent Petroleum Group in Sharjah, UAE.
Throughout my career, I have been engaged in various fields including legal; journalism and press releases; oil and gas; development; politics; cinema, TV and drama; and advertising.
Freelance clients include the British Council (Egypt), AHT (international German development agency), UNDP/LIFE, WB Group, Al Ahram’s Journal of International Politic, Anis Ebid (Egyptian leading subtitling firm), in addition to Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) and Landmine Monitor (pro-bono).
I have a BA in English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; professional certificates in written translation and simultaneous interpreting from the AUC, Egypt; and an MA in International Development: Development Management from the University of Manchester, UK. I am a NAATI accredited professional translator (into Arabic), and on the UN’s roster of Arabic translators.
